Indian folks enjoying the Taj Mahal
I can't resist showing one more picture of this magnificent building. This one makes me recall what it was like to visit on the day we did. My first impression was one of peacefulness. Although we were not alone by a long shot, the place didn't feel at all crowded. The fact that it was a Tuesday and not the weekend probably helped. Also, I remember that there were very few foreign tourists at the time of our visit. I can imagine that the ambiance would have been quite different had there been busloads of westerners with a bunch of loud-speaking guides. It felt much more authentic to see colourful sarees float in the wind (instead of blue jeans and sneakers) and Indian families relaxing and enjoying themselves.
