Swank v01n06 (1942-01.Elite) cover Berry (Darwin Edit)
Michael Berry, 1942.
The sixth issue of Victor S. Fox's Swank following the success of Esquire. Featuring a story from Chester B. Himes.
The lore on Victor Fox points to him as a swindler or clownish figure. His comics were often poorly produced and haphazard, so it's something of a surprise to see such a well-executed production here in his magazine line around 41 and 42. Despite the ad inside claiming a readership of 1,300,000, this magazine lasted only seven issues and is scant in terms of survivors.
