Daily Planet 1971-02-02 back and front cover
Howard Hayden, 1971.
The back and front cover of The Daily Planet, February 2nd, 1971. Folded in half, this is the last page of the newspaper, and opens to a full tabloid.
Not as graphically interesting as some undergrounds, but you can check out what the underground was up to in Miami circa 1971. Record reviews of the new Richie Havens, CCR, and Lord Baltimore, happenings in Vietnam, discrimination against drug users in employment, events, classifieds, and hippie advertising.
I was doing a survey of wide variety of undergrounds back when - I believe this is the only one I've done out of Florida. Some of the bigger papers have gotten their shit together and put together archives, some of the others are virtually dust in the wind. as cheap newsprint in hippie environs doesn't always fare too well. Scan em if you got em.
