I started working on this one as a reaction to the recent passing of Jim Vadeboncoeur, Jr. I didn't know Jim personally outside of comic forums but became a great admirer of his great skill in identifying and appreciating artists from the golden age of comics and illustration.
In addition to his books and website, Jim allowed us comic scanners full access to his incredible collection of comics. We scanned nearly four and a half thousand of these comics (and his collection was even larger than that), many scarce and valuable and accompanied by an index card with the stories and various artists listed.
He didn't keep his comics in bags, and this issue had been well, well read.
Jim was an art lover and his contributions immense - rest in peace, good man.
