Sesame Street Magazine 1983-07 cover (McCoy edit)

Rick Brown, Sesame Street Magazine, Wraparound Cover July 1983.

Grover as Pied Piper. I'd follow Grover anywhere.

As a father of two, I've tried to instill a love of reading in my children. In the digital age, with phones and all, I'm not sure how much I've succeeded (and talks with a cousin prof verify - young people are not the voracious readers they once were). When mine were younger, I did have much better luck, though, and there were all sorts of kid's books around the house supplemented by weekly trips to the public library.

As a scanner, I've tried to claim some space for children's books and magazines on screens. I scanned many, many of the books from around the house (and from the library, you betcha), and they often enjoyed reading that way. And there were other scanners who spent far more time than I ever did in this worthy effort. My kids each had their own file of favorite scans on the desktop they would read in addition to the traditional books around the house. They really did love them and also appreciated the fact that I could transfer any book they desired to the screen. This is not rocket science, and any parent can do the same.

Tonight, a series of children's magazines, seemingly a relic, though many of previous generations will remember these wonderful titles. My scans, all edits by McCoy, loving editor of any mag I might dish out.
