CT stands for computerized tomography is a non invasive scanning procedure which uses advanced rotating X-ray machines to generate cross – sectional images of the bones, soft tissues, blood vessel inside of the body. CT Scans or CAT Scans can be performed on any part of the body and procedure is absolutely painless.
Diagnosis from CT Scan
To identify fractures, tumours on bones and joints
To detect cancer, heart diseases etc
To identify internal injuries or internal bleeding after an accident
To check if treatments are effective, whether the body is responding to radiation or therapy like the cancer treatment, chemotherapy
To help locate tumors, clots, fluid secretion or infections
To help guide procedures such as surgery, biopsy and radiation therapy

Do not eat or drink for a few hours – at least 2 to 3 hours before CT Scan
Do not wear or carry metal objects, jewellery, eyeglasses, accessories of any kind to the scan room
Wear loose fitting clothes or hospital gown.
Inform the radiologist incase of serious health issue or recent surgery or you have implants of any kind in your body
Inform in prior if you are claustrophobic or anxiety issues so our doctors take the necessary action for a smooth scan at your convenience
Inform in prior if you are pregnant, especially in the first trimester of the pregnancy.
Contrast dye may be injected to highlight the areas of the body examined to obtain accurate diagnosis
After the scan, you’ll be told to drink lots of fluids to help your kidneys remove the contrast material from your body.
