RABe 501 002 / Steinen (CH)
Description 📄:
With the Gotthard Base Tunnel closed, the Giruno number 002 ‘Aargau’ has to do the mountain route, with steep ascents and descents, not to mention countless sharp curves. Despite not being the environment for which this train was born, it performs without problems. This is all thanks to its short bodies, which allow it very small curve radiuses, and its large power output of almost 10,000 PS. Approaching the next stop in Arth-Goldau, the RABe 501 is kissed by the last sun flares of the day, which turn the landscape golden. With their peaks almost hidden by the clouds, the two mountains Kleiner Mythen (left) and Grosser Mythen (right) remind us that we are in Switzerland, a country known globally for its beautiful mountains.
