Mirror-lake + arolla (720nm IR)
Alright, this is the final position at the alpine lake, and ..of course I had to at least do one in the classic "IR winter landscape" style. 😊 Aim was to capture more of the reflection in the lake, all while not losing thes stone pine tree or general sensible framing.
And it kind of worked, the surface was not totally flat and calm, but there is still a nice diffuse mirror effect. If it were all ripples, like it is in the back of the lake here, I guess it would have refracted most or all of the reflex image.
It was also swampy at that spot, pretty soft and wobbly ground, got myself some wet feet, but it did not mess up the stitching. This is in fact the only 360° panorama I did there, but the back side did not really offer anything special, more trees, so it was no hassle to just crop it.
The source for this is a 360° 42 piece 420MP mercator projection, which I cropped to 8:5 with 11130 x 6957px, ~77,4MP.
Nikon D90 (APS-C, fullspectrum mod)
Tamron 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di ll VC HLD
Hoya R72 (720nm infrared pass-filter)
ISO200, 24mm, f/6.3, 0,6sec
(therefore 36mm full frame equivalent)
tripod, panorama head, remote (ML-L3)
