Mysterious landscape (infrared)

Could be that this is one of my first telephoto infrared panoramas, it's stitched from 5 photos in portrait orientation, yielding 10575 x 3887px (41,1MP).

Since the 80-200mm AI-S is just a work of precision, there is no distortion, no vignetting, certainly not at f/8 and certainly not on a crop sensor body, stitching itself is a breeze even without a pano head.

Challenge was more the execution with this setup. The lens is rather long and heavy and my tripod head tilts to the left for portrait orientation, so the lens tends to unscrew the tripod mount plate and f**** everything up. Would be a non issue with Arca-Swiss mount though. But I have since found a workaround, but that's a story for another time..
