Policeman’s Helmet

Himalayan balsam (Impatiens glandulifera) is considered extremely invasive to lowland riparian areas such as moist forests, riverbanks and roadside thickets. It was introduced in the early 1800s as an ornamental planting that has since escaped into natural areas across much of the Northern Hemisphere.
