Green Summer by Adriana Noya

We had not been back home (Spain) since 2018, due to Covid. Seeing family and friends and exploring the city was the highlight of the trip. It was fabulous to be able to walk around my hometown and visit places, old and new. CaixaForum Madrid is a museum and cultural center in Madrid. It used to house an old power station called Central Del Mediodía, from the 1900s. It was redesigned in in the 2000s. The Vertical Garden (in the pic) is my favorite because it is outside, in the middle of a major thoroughfare. There are parks all around, but seeing that architects make an effort to make our city greener and cleaner, even smack in the middle of a major boulevard, is encouraging and uplifting. We were extremely grateful to be able to see the city with new eyes, after the COVID hiatus.
