“Although we have experience in the field of honey,” said 29-year-old beekeeper, Saleh Salim. “USAID/ERLP’s support has opened up other fields and bee products for us other than honey that we were unaware of, such as royal jelly that protects skin against ultraviolet rays, propolis, and beeswax products. The use of pollen traps, where pollen is collected in the season of its abundance to be used on dry days, either to feed the bees, is another one of the new techniques we were introduced to."
