The menstrual cycle is a natural process that occurs in women of reproductive age. The cycle is divided into four phases, each with its own unique characteristics and hormonal changes.

1. Menstrual phase: This phase starts on the first day of the menstrual cycle and ends on the 5th day. (From day 1 to 5)

2. Follicular Phase: This also starts on the first day of menstruation, but continues till the 13th day of the cycle. (From day 1 to 13)

3. Ovulatory Phase: It is the 14th day of the menstrual cycle, on this day pituitary gland secretes a hormone that causes the ovary to release the matured egg cell. (Day 14)

4. Luteal Phase: The stage starts from the 15th day and continues till the end of the menstrual cycle. (From day 15 to 28)
