Back in the U.S.S.R.!
...you don't know how lucky you are, boys!
We begin a new chapter on our page, having just returned from a very successful trip to Lithuania, our North-Eastern neighbour. We wouldn't have done it if it weren't for the help of Gediminas . Thanks to info provided by him, we managed to get some very interesting pictures.
We start our virtual journey on the station Šeštokai. Event though the border station on the Lithuanian side is in Mockava, a lot happens over here, as it is home to a small depot, a tiny industrial facility and a transloading bay for containers and various other goods. We swiftly made our way through a footbridge to the shed, as we had spotted something very out of the ordinary peaking out of the building. There I could realise a tiny wish of mine I had and I quickly grabbed the map of the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic from 1988 to take the picture. Per request of the very friendly crew, the loco number is covered, although I suppose most of you know what it is by now.
I thereby open up the Lithuania/Lietuva - Trains/Traukiniai album :)
