1992 Ford Escort L
A bit of a timewarp scene here, a ratty Mk5 Escort outside a typical council-issue garage wouldn't have been out of place 20 or so years ago, however today it's a bit of an unusual sight. This one is also in considerably worse condition than I'd imagine a Mk5 Escort would have been back then, suffering from the typical rear arch rot as well as a gaping rust hole at the front, however as of its last MOT it only had advisories for a tyre and exhaust rust; quite advanced rust for just 6-7 years of sitting. Contrary to popular opinion, I've always thought the Mk5 Escort was the best of an otherwise lacklustre bunch, particularly the first iterations like this one, arguably ruined by the facelift and subsequent Mk6 before the Focus saved the day in 1998.
