tibet Traditional culture

The traditional attire of the Kham and Amdo Tibetan regions reflects the distinct cultural identities and environmental influences of these areas. In Kham, the clothing is often made from durable wool and features bold, vibrant colors, with long coats (chuba) worn by both men and women, often paired with leather boots and intricate silver jewelry. The garments are designed to withstand the cold mountainous climate.

In Amdo, the style tends to be more practical yet still colorful, with women typically wearing a chupa, a long dress with a wide belt, and men donning similar garments with added layers for warmth. Both regions share common elements, like the use of wool and heavy fabrics, but each has unique regional variations in patterns and styles that reflect their cultural heritage and history.
