Alex gets Pumpkin'd
Alex found himself amongst the few students who put themselves forward for duelling. He had been pretty confident this year that he'd raise his game. Unfortunately for him... his wand disagreed.
Alex's name was called to go first by Professor Priaulx. He ascended the wooden steps of the stage, clutching his wand in his hand. His opponent, a 5th year Lion, Jamie Noel Koslarević.
Jamie bowed, and Alex returned as was customary. They both exchanged a playful smile, this was just practice after all. Professor Priaulx shouted down that it was one hit to win.
Alex readied himself in a defensive stance, preparing for Jamie to attack. As soon as he head Jamie call "Melofors" with a flick of his wand, Alex swished his wand in front of his body and attempted to cast the shield charm non-verbally. A faint blue light barely appeared before his wand gave up and failed him.
Unprotected, Jamie's jinx hit Alex full whack. He staggered back as his vision blurred to black. His head felt heavy, for it was no longer a head, but a bright orange pumpkin. He mumbled indiscernible protests from inside the plant he now had for a head.
It was clear he'd need more practice...
