"Here my little sister is showing how you're supposed to take a fresh wiggly worm from mom's bill. She was like born to do this and knew exactly where to grab any kinds of insects offered, but I... I had to practice many times until I figured it out!
I sometimes felt sorry for her though because she would sink into the soft mud almost ankle deep and wondered why she didn't have awesome flippers like mine. Those would have helped her."

(What looks like a backward-bending knee is, in fact, the bird’s ankle. The knees are located close to the body and covered with feathers.)
