Pronghorn (Antilocapra americana) - female
Pronghorn are found only in the Great Plains and Western United States. Their natural range used to extend from Canada to Northern Mexico, but overexploitation (hunting) has reduced their population significantly.
These cute "antelopes" are not true antelopes and resemble deer. They are quite remarkable as they are the fastest land animals in North America and the second fastest in the world! Only cheetah can run faster than pronghorn!
