9 - After extraction
That looks pretty clean but to make it even cleaner I will put it back on the hive and the girls will recover and store all the traces of honey that I could not spin out of the frames.
You can see the reinforcing wire in the wax foundation.
A full frame is heavy and might not survive extraction without the support of the wires.
Sometimes you will see honey in the comb, without having foundation or wire reinforcement. That is so you can eat the wax along with the honey.
In that case, the bees make the whole comb without having foundation to start them off.
