It's very noisy here, there are a lot of boxes and packing tape. In the spring the warehouse worked almost without days off - when humanitarian cargos arrived - they needed to be quickly sorted, repackaged, and sent further. Now the warehouse continues to work every day - because - the volunteers who work here have already become a real family - they communicate, and exchange plans for a weekend. They say that although they are not in contact with Caritas beneficiaries, they also understand well that their contribution is important and necessary.

Yulia studies at the Ivan Franko University of Lviv at the Faculty of Foreign Languages and volunteers at the Caritas warehouse - her duties include packing food and hygiene kits for forcibly displaced people and people living near the front line. The girl started volunteering as soon as the full-scale war began in February. At first, she came to school next to the house where people who came to Lviv were accommodated. "I sorted clothes, helped with cooking, worked with children - I wanted to support people who suffered because of the war. I want to be useful. It is often physically difficult work, but I understand that it is necessary," Yulia explains. "It's nice for me to imagine how someone unpacks the boxes of packages, that we prepared here, lays out food or hygiene products, to imagine people's reaction - I understand people really need this assistance and this is probably my main motivation for work," the girl adds.

Iryna says that in work you need to find common topics to discuss with other volunteers - it distracts from the routine. According to the girl, in the spring humanitarian cargo included a lot of clothes, children's toys, and food - it was clear that people often shared just what they had at home and it was very touching. "We would like people who support us abroad to know that all the help that comes to Ukraine really goes to those who need it the most," Iryna adds.

Rosalia, among other things, also coordinates the work of other volunteers - according to her, now fewer people come, but there is never become a situation when no one is there at all. "We all know that the number of people in need is not decreasing, and I'm proud to be a part of Caritas, for all of us it is a joint contribution to our victory," she says.
