Statue of Queen Tuya

Tuya

Ramses revered his mother, Tuya. She appears beside him on the Abu Simbel temple façade, she had her own dedicated temple in the Ramesseum, and Ramses built an impressive tomb for her in the Valley of the Queens. This Middle Kingdom statue, made 500 years earlier, was recarved and renamed to represent Tuya.
