Escape from the tardis
The Doctor's ship (Dr. Who) is a time machine called the TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space) and despite its outward appearance, it is very large. The TARDIS of other time travelers assimilate the shape of everyday objects so as not to attract attention. However, the disrepair of the Doctor's TARDIS caused it to be shaped like an English police box and unable to morph: Over the years, this has made it one of the show's icons. A hallmark of the Tardis is its sound. It was originally created by simply rubbing the bass strings of a piano with a key. This sound was later modified by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop and later became the well-known sound effect that variations still use today. Another curiosity, asteroid 3325, a main belt asteroid discovered in 1984, is named the TARDIS after the Doctor's time/space machine.
