Old Scotney Castle...

The "Old Castle" at Scotney, a fortified manor house built around 1378 by Roger de Ashburnham, was originally a rectangular structure with towers at each corner, designed to protect against potential French invasion. Over time, it evolved and was eventually transformed into a picturesque ruin within the gardens of the larger Scotney Castle estate.
