The world's oldest wooden church?

Greensted Church in Essex, England is often claimed to be the world's oldest wooden church, though only some of its original structure remains. The oak walls are believed to date back to the mid-9th or mid-11th century, and may be remnants of a palisade church or early stave church.

Greensted Church is a Grade I listed building and is still in use, holding weekly services. It's located in the village of Greensted, about a mile west of Chipping Ongar town center. The church's full title is The Church of St Andrew, Greensted-juxta-Ongar, but it's more commonly known as Greensted Church.
