David Larson says: In most of the world, Atkinson trucks disappeared in the 1970's as they merged with Seddon. Not so in Australia, where the brand had enough clout that International (who owned Atkinson), allowed them to remain independent for the next 15 years. The 3800 Mk. III was introduced in 1969 and was popular with Australian road train operators.

David Larson says: The very first HHT truck. This one had a V8 Detroit under the hood and used a Volvo F88 cab. The design was heavily inspired by the Scammell Contractor, but beefed up and stretched.
