George Stephenson

Died August 12th, 1848

 

"The statue of George Stephenson at the National Railway Museum in York is made of marble. The statue, which was commissioned in 1852 from sculptor Edward Hodges Baily, once stood in the Great Hall of Euston Station in London before being moved to the museum."
