Steps To Implement FreeRadius Network Security System

FreeRadius is a high-performance and highly configurable free RADIUS server. It supports all common RADIUS features, including EAP, dynamic clients, accounting, and authorization. It also supports a wide range of database backends for user credentials, as well as a variety of virtual user backends. FreeRadius is released under the GNU General Public License, version 2.

 

The following are the steps to implement the FreeRadius network security system:

 

1. Download the FreeRadius package from the official website.

2. Extract the package and install it on the server.

3. Configure the server by editing the ‘FreeRADIUS.conf’ file.

4. Create a ‘users’ file in the ‘/etc directory and add the users that need to be authenticated.

5. Start the FreeRadius server by running the ‘radiusd’ command.

6. Test the server by authenticating a user.
