Sometimes distance calculation is different than distance colour lists, we see the same paradox circumstance among the Moldavian Scythians and Sarmatians.

Kayan - in Iranian (legendary Kay tribe)
Kağan - in Turkic (Kayı - founder of Ottoman)
Kaitag - in the Caucasus (Moutain Kayı Kumyks)
χai - in Mongolian (Qay Xianbei tribal union)
Possible etymologies:
* Turkic root qað- "snowstorm, blizzard" or kay- "strong"
* Mongolic etymologies: ɣai "misfortune", χai "interjection of grief", χai "to seek", χai "to hew"
* New Persian kay(an) originates from Avestan kavi (or kauui), from Avestan "king" and also "poet-sacrificer" or "poet-priest". The traditional Iranian coronation crown "Kiani" was introduced and maintained by the Turkic Qajar Shahs (1789–1925). Related to Kaveh the blacksmith and Kurdalægon. The root is also found in Parthian Turkish kawan ("prince, lord").
*Arabic الْقَاعِدَة (al-qāʿida), definite form of قَاعِدَة (qāʿida, “foundation, base” < throne?) may be related.
Qashqai Turks of Iran preserved this name in their own ethynonym Qash-Qāy, the Iron-Qāy. *Ultimate source may be Turkic kaška ("white blaze"), originally (of an animal) ‘with a white head and darker body’ or ‘with a white blaze on the forehead’. An old word ending in -ğa. Perhaps related to the bronze age Kaskians/Kaška . Compare Çağatai kaşka (spelt): ‘a horse or other animal with a blaze of white or some other colour on the forehead’, ‘a kind of weapon {silâh) made of iron which they fasten on a horse’s forehead on the day of battle’ and Kipchak kaşka: ‘a blaze on a horse’s forehead’.
