SAAB 96 Monte Carlo 850, 1965 - 1967

The SAAB Monte Carlo ia a rare 2-stroke racing car. On the photo j'll see two SAABO caravans in the background.

Engine: 841 cc two-stroke, three-cylinder 3 Solex carburetors Power: 55 hp (41 kW)

Lubrication: separate tank for two-stroke oil.

Gears: 4.

Secials: - disc brakes at the front, unusual at the time

- the wheels had four studs instead of the five used on the 96 and were of a stronger build, to withstand the extra workload.

During model year 1967 the two-stroke models were phased out and replaced with the Monte Carlo V4 (with the 65 hp (48 kW) Ford Taunus V4 engine).
