The Lion of Lucerne
The Lion of Lucerne is a monument commemorating the 700+ Swiss guards died while defending King Louis XVI's royal households during the French Revolution. It is a quite moving sculpture when seen in person. Notice the alcove in which the lion lies in has a shape of a pig. It is said that because the sculptor did not receive his full commission, out of despite, he made the shape of the alcove into a shape of a pig. Apparently, this was not noticed until the sculpture was completed.
