Roy's 2

Seemed like the clouds were looking good tonight so I took a ride out to Roy's. I was not paying close attention to camera settings and didn't get what was wanted. It's about 2½ hours round trip including fuel and buying a snack. It was 70 degrees F (21 degrees C) after the sun went down. It seems like Spring may finally have arrived in the Mojave.

It looks like the bridge east of Roy's on National Trails Highway had a structural problem. It's closed. People were going around through the wash but National Trails Highway (County Road 66) is signed as closed. You can't get to Kelbaker Rd. unless you go around the bridge through the wash. It's a little muddy and I didn't try it.

The road closure is not good. Many of the old Route 66 bridges have wood structural parts. It may be a while before it's back in service.
