Mount Mansfield, Cambridge, Vermont
At 4,393 feet (1,339 metres) Mount Mansfield is the highest mountain in Vermont. I photographed this small valley and barn from a hill about 4 kms north. I went there hoping to catch the late-afternoon sun on the valley and buildings, but I was too late. The hills on the western side had already blocked the sun. Only a little rosy light on the mountain and in the clouds is still visible. I will try again later in the winter. The snow on the mountain and trees give them a cottony appearance. Most of the sky that is not included in this photo was covered in black clouds.
