This was the first of four farms we passed on this day with Scottish Highland Cows. I suppose they are getting more common in Vermont. The farmer was out feeding his small herd when I stopped and asked if I could take photos. He was very obliging and kept my wife busy with the history of his family and the area while I walked around in the mud. Could your camera catch the eye with the eye autofocus? I didn't even try. There are two eyes in there. This was the mother of two calves that were eating at the time. She never took her eyes off me, no matter where I walked. She stood in one spot and stared me down the entire time. That blade of grass in her mouth never moved.
