In this instance, the wire becomes a metaphor to the pressures to conform within a new perfect environment and our primal instincts as social animals to become exactly like the person beside us. With a mind of its own, this pressure grows and slithers up the human body, unsuspecting and silent, but mobile and dangerous in its sharp edges of wire and slow consummation of the physical form.
