Cleveland
Packing your life and things and moving to a new country is a difficult task. I recently relocated from Canada to Cleveland, Ohio, and I was terrified about moving to an unfamiliar place where I knew no one. One day, my dad and I decided to go around town and visit famous spots in Cleveland to get more familiar with the place and discover fun activities to do there. We heard about this beautiful naturistic spot called Hinckley Lake and decide to explore the famous location. As soon as I got there, I was struck in awe because of how familiar this spot looked compared to one of the lakes I went to as a kid in my hometown in Canada. I immediately pulled out my camera and took a picture of this stunning scenic view which made it feel as though I was back home in Canada. The picturesque, bright areas with broad views filled my mind with an instant dose of happiness because I was reminiscing my childhood memories of visiting the lake back home. This image perfectly captures my desire to visit this location whenever I missed Canada. This place made a great difference in my life because it brought back those beautiful moments I used to spend with my friends and family when I was young which made me realize that I want to visit this place whenever I felt homesick. This image is very important to my identity because it shaped who I am today and influenced several important aspects of my childhood.
When I was in my senior year of high school, my dad broke the news that he got a job in America and would be moving to Cleveland, Ohio by the end of the year. At first, I was pretty upset because it has always been a dream of mine to live in the US but moving to Cleveland, Ohio just didn't seem as exciting. However, I must disagree because Cleveland and Canada were pretty similar in some ways which helped me feel better whenever I missed Canada. I made a lot of great memories in Cleveland Ohio especially eating delicious food, visiting the Rock and Roll hall of fame, and discovering fun things to do in suburban towns with my friends, especially my roommate who lives 10 minutes away from me. I am happy to live in Cleveland as I have finally adapted to the change in surroundings and found a comfortable place. I have some great friends who live close by, a beautiful new home, and my family. Moving to Cleveland has definitely been a huge transition in my life but it was definitely for the best because I felt closer to finding my true identity and interests. I learned that I can adapt to change pretty well and i shouldn't be afraid to discover new things because it brought great opportunities to my life
