Tower 16 at Sherman Texas was the crossing of the SP/SLSF and the T&P. By this time, October 25, 1999, Burlington Northern had taken over the tower and the SLSF, SP was no longer using their route and Texas Northeastern (TNER) was operating the T&P lines. In between road trains, BN road switcher LTEX8591 with GP38AC 2122 for power went south of the diamond to switch the elevators. The tower was on short time. It was moved to Grapevine, TX for preservation after closing.
