CNW experts confirm locomotives with no Automatic Train Stop were often confined to the Omaha Lines between Sioux City and the Twin Cities. This resulted in some CNW exotica roaming those rails. In July, 1971, an extra west was powered by SD40 924 (ex CGW 404) and U30C 931 departing Butterfield, MN.
