the overnight North Star between Chicago and Duluth crossed the Mississippi River departing Minneapolis at 820 AM on April 20 1981 on what was the old Northern Pacific double track passenger line Third Terminal Subdivision between 35th Ave in Northtown and 1st Street North in Minneapolis. It later became part of the Burlington Northern Minnesota Division Fifth Subdivision and was used by Amtrak as a through route until April, 1981 when their trains to Midway Station were rerouted via Park Junction.
