Cucumber Sandwich
Fortunate timing and a bit of late running allowed for this passing shot of two Oxford - Paddington services. The bridge is similar to the one at Nuneham, which caused all the recent trouble, but this is a mile further south at Appleford. It is sandwiched between 800024 on 1P35, 17:01 Oxford - Paddington and 802015 on 1D32, 16:23 Paddington - Oxford in the distance.
In the tradition of enthusiasts giving nicknames to train types, it seems GWR Class 800s and 802s have gained the title of 'Cucumbers' or 'Flying Cucumbers'!
