Advanced higher art sketchbook work so far A4
This is a selection of work from my Advanced higher sketchbook so far. I’ve pushed myself out my comfort zone in trying 2 drawings with biro pen. This isn’t normally a media I would feel confident using however I wanted to take a risk and give it a go. In my opinion they don’t have the same impact as some of my finer pieces however I’ve learned from the process and can see that I can be a lot looser with the pen work than with pencil or paint. I have also started continuations and developments of the 2 pieces in the bottom left as I thought these covered both the theme of identity and the UNCRC right to an identity. In the images, I’ve tried to portray how, if not protected, a child’s identity can be lost, bought or sold. I’ve tried to show this by obfuscating or blurring the facial features, hiding their identity and showing an alternative view.
