Breitscheidplatz, in Berlin-Charlottenburg, Germany - Berlin Memorial Church
The Berlin Memorial Church is the symbolic center of the old West Berlin, a memorial dedicated to peace and reconciliation. Its bell tower remains in ruins, recalling the horrors and destructions of war. After the bombings of the Second World War, the original bell tower, although in ruins, survived, and still bears the nickname 'hollow tooth' because it looks like a hollowed out chicot. Visible from afar, this building erected on Breitscheidplatz, in the immediate vicinity of the bustling commercial district which includes the Tauentzienstrasse and the Ku'damm, is the only one in the square that has been spared by the bombings.
In the same square, Breitscheidplatz, on December 19, 2016 at the Christmas market, an Islamist terrorist attack with a van unfolded. It took place around 8 p.m. local time, leaving thirteen dead and more than fifty injured.
L'église du Souvenir de Berlin est le centre symbolique de l'ancien Berlin-Ouest, mémorial dédié à la paix et à la réconciliation. Son clocher resté en ruine rappelle les horreurs et les destructions de la guerre. Après les bombardements de la Seconde guerre mondiale, le clocher original, bien qu’ en ruine, a survécu, et porte toujours le sobriquet de “dent creuse”, car il ressemble à un chicot évidé. Visible de loin, ce bâtiment érigé sur la Breitscheidplatz, à proximité immédiate du quartier commercial animé qui comprend la Tauentzienstrasse et le Ku’damm, est le seul de la place qui ait été épargné par les bombardements .
Sur cette meme place, la Breitscheidplatz, le 19 décembre 2016 au marché de Noël, une attaque terroriste islamiste au camion-bélier s'est déroulée . Elle a eu lieu aux alentours de 20 h heure locale, faisant treize morts et plus de cinquante blessés.
