FLOWER TIME 2025 BRUXELLES
Every other year, the Grand-Place hosts the famous flower carpet. The other year, the rooms of the Town Hall are transformed into a floral display. Built in Gothic and classical styles, it is located south of the Grand-Place. The Town Hall is the only medieval vestige on the Grand-Place and is considered a masterpiece of civil Gothic architecture, particularly Brabant Gothic. Its tower rises approximately 96 meters. This year's theme is a tribute to another art form in which Belgium excels: fashion and textile design. Hundreds of delphiniums, hydrangea, chrysanthemums, carnations, germinis, astilbes, thistles, orchids... dressed in tulle and other fabrics add a burst of pep and color to the sometimes dark and heavy gold of the UNESCO World Heritage building. Through the architectural richness of 15 rooms in the Brussels City Hall, we discover the colorful creations of Belgian and international florist artists.
Une année sur deux, la Grand-Place accueille le célèbre tapis de fleurs. L'autre année, ce sont les salles de l'Hôtel de Ville qui se transforment en écrin floral. De style gothique et classique, il est situé au sud de la Grand-Place. Il constitue le seul vestige médiéval de la Grand-Place et est considéré comme un chef-d'œuvre de l'architecture gothique civile et plus particulièrement du gothique brabançon. Sa tour s’élève à environ 96 mètres. Le thème de cette édition est un hommage à une autre forme d'art dans laquelle la Belgique excelle : la mode et le design textile. Des centaines de hortensia, delphiniums, chrysanthèmes, œillets, germinis, astilbes, chardons, orchidées... habillées de tulle et autres tissus viennent donner un coup de peps et de couleurs aux ors parfois sombres et chargés du bâtiment classé au patrimoine mondial de l'Unesco.
A travers la richesse architecturale de 15 salles dans l’Hôtel de Ville de Bruxelles, on découvre les créations colorées de artistes fleuristes belges et internationaux.
