Das Reithaus befindet sich im Park an der Ilm zwischen der Anna Amalia Bibliothek und dem Residenzschloss. Im Jahr 1718 wurde das Gebäude durch den Herzoglichen Baumeisters Christian Richter (1665-1722) im Barockstil errichtet. Es wurde auf den Ruinen des ursprünglichen Reithauses, welches durch die große Flutkatastrophe im Jahr 1613 zerstört wurde, erbaut.
Das Reithaus diente dem Marstall als Gebäude für den Reitunterricht. Die Räumlichkeiten des Gebäudes wurden nicht ausschließlich als Reithalle genutzt. Während der Doppelschlacht bei Jena und Auerstedt im Jahr 1806 wurde es zur Unterbringung gefangener Preußen und Sachsen genutzt. Im Jahr 1855 diente es übergangsweise erneut als provisorisches Gefängnis.
The riding house is located in the park on the Ilm between the Anna Amalia library and the residential palace. In 1718 the building was built in the Baroque style by the ducal architect Christian Richter (1665-1722). It was built on the ruins of the original riding house, which was destroyed by the great flood of 1613.
The riding stables served as a building for riding lessons. The building's premises were not used exclusively as a riding arena. During the double battle of Jena and Auerstedt in 1806, it was used to house captured Prussians and Saxons. In 1855 it served as a temporary prison again.
Le manège est situé dans le parc de l'Ilm, entre la bibliothèque Anna Amalia et le palais résidentiel. En 1718, le bâtiment fut construit dans le style baroque par l'architecte ducal Christian Richter (1665-1722). Il a été construit sur les ruines du manège d'origine, détruit par la grande inondation de 1613.
Le centre équestre servait de bâtiment pour les cours d'équitation.
Les locaux du bâtiment n'étaient pas utilisés exclusivement comme manège. Lors de la double bataille d'Iéna et d'Auerstedt en 1806, il fut utilisé pour abriter les Prussiens et les Saxons capturés. En 1855, il servit à nouveau de prison temporaire.
