Eagle Nebula M16 sho
The Eagle Nebula M 16 is visible in the constellation of the Serpent's Tail, it is formed by a young open cluster of stars associated with an emission nebula composed of ionized hydrogen. Its distance has always been relatively uncertain, but a value of about 7000 light years from Earth tends to be accepted. In the center of the image are the Pillars of Creation, so called because of the famous photo of the Hubble Space Telescope, one of the first photos that made me passionate about astrophotography. Next to it on the left is the Fairy of the Eagle Nebula
