Rosette Nebula Nga2237

The heart of the Rosette Nebula NGC 2237 is a large rosette-shaped region in the constellation Monoceros.

Inside the nebula, a region where new stars are being born, is an open cluster of bright young stars, NGC 2244. The ultraviolet light from the cluster of hot stars makes the surrounding cloud glow. The Rosette Nebula extends for about 100 light-years and is located 5,000 light-years away.
