Juan Goals: Visita Iglesia in Isabela

Isabela has its share of colonial churches from the Spanish era. Tumauini to the north was part of Cagayan before it was separated into its province in 1856.

 

After being evangelized in late 17th century Isabela province, Dominicans built stone churches in the 18th century; some are still visible today.

 

During the Spanish rule in the Philippines, Holy Week became an integral part of Filipino culture. A religious holiday has been observed in the Philippines ever since.
