Gate hook

Taken for the Saturday Self Challenge 'Fastenings'

 

This hook on a chain fastens closed an old gate to a granite fence post. The other half of the fixing being rope.This is quite a common way of closing gates around where I live, if the gate post is granite I guess it saves having to try to drill through the granite to secure a fixing.
