Footdee (“Fittie”), Aberdeen - mid-19th Century former fishing community designed by John Smith, the architect responsible for Balmoral Castle. The planned community was built to re-house the fishermen, and their families, who were living in very poor quality housing around the harbour area. The area is still residential, maintained with pride, and full of colourful and artistic touches.
