Just my observation and advice to Nikon users about the AF-S F4 300mm Nikon Lens. It may be slow to acquire its subject, however out of many lenses that I own there is something special about this lens. It renders colors in a dreamy way that is unlike many other lenses. Sharpness is in the upper percentile range. The above photo is simply cropped, and colors are as shot. Photo was manually focused from about 3.5ft or 1.067m while still being sharp enough to crop in. Remember that this lens is a D model and will only auto focus on camera bodies that have an internal focus motor.
